Following
his career within the public sector as one of the first two endangered
species biologists working for the Nongame & Endangered Wildlife
Program within the NC Wildlife Resources Commission, John Alderman
started Alderman Environmental Services, Inc. in 2003. In 2016,
Alderman Environmental Services ownership was transferred to Joe
Alderman, an experienced biologist and military veteran.
Although the firm provides numerous
natural resources investigation services to the public and private
sectors, it is most recognized for its work with extremely endangered
freshwater species. Clients include various federal agencies, such as
the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, U.S.Forest Service, and U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers; various state agencies, such as VA Department
of Game & Inland Fisheries, Georgia Department of Natural
Resources, NC Wildlife Resources Commission, NC Department of
Transportation, and SC Department of Transportation; utility
companies; and numerous environmental and engineering companies.
During recent quarters, major surveys
and/or relocation projects have been completed working with rare fish
or mussels within a 5 state area of the Southeast.
